Importance Of Holy Spirit in Our Journey

Job 32:8 says, “There is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives us understanding” (verse paraphrased). As children of the Most High God, we have a leverage - the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells within each and every one of us. The Holy Spirit equips and empowers us to journey through life with confidence. The Holy Spirit does the following to help us through our journey:

1.    The Holy Spirit reminds us of God’s promises. 

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you” (John 14:26). Through the help of the Holy Spirit, we are able remember the word of God to apply in every situation and circumstance we encounter.

2.    The Holy Spirit teaches us all things.  “…But just as His anointing teaches you giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit about all things. (1 John 2:27b). 

3.    The Holy Spirit directs us on what we should do.

“Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left” (Isaiah 30:21)

4.    The Holy Spirit helps us to pray the heart of God. “In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).

5.    Most importantly, the love of God is poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5b). The love of God helps us stay focused on the author and finisher of our faith and daily live our lives to glorify Him. 

In essence, the Holy Spirit is the secret to our success. We cannot do without the Holy Spirit. He is critical to our success and victory. As a result, we need to intentionally build a relationship with Holy Spirit. He needs to become our best friend. We need to train ourselves to hear him speak to us and guide us. This is very key to experiencing great possibilities in every facet of our lives. Next week I will highlight practical steps to hearing the Holy Spirit and my own personal journey. Love you all.
